KNMI Climate Scenarios
Previous generation scenarios
01-09-2008
The KNMI'06 climate scenarios published in 2006 replace all earlier climate scenarios of KNMI, including the so called 'WB21-scenarios'.
WB21 scenarios 2001
The KNMI climate scenarios developed for the National Commission on Water management in the 21st century (WB21 scenarios) are used in many applications. They are fully described in Konnen (2001; see Further reading). The WB21 scenarios have now been replaced by the KNMI'06 scenarios. The previous and current generation scenarios have been compared.

NW4 scenarios 1997
The first quantitative scenarios for general usage have been issued in a brochure in January 1997. They served as background information for the 4th Act on Water Management and were largely based on the NRP scenarios issued earlier. See Konnen et al. (1997; see further reading).
NRP scenarios 1995
As part of the Dutch National Research Programme on Global Air Pollution and Climate Change, KNMI has developed its first generation climate change scenarios for the Netherlands. They are basically very similar to the later WB21 scenarios. The rationale behind this first generation scenarios is described in Klein Tank et al. (1995; see Further reading) and Buishand and Klein Tank (1996).
