"The changing climate will have a sustainable influence on our highly industrialised society. We all must learn to live with the consequences of the climate change and adapt ourselves to it.
The global mean surface temperature in 2006 is currently estimated to be + 0.42°C above the 1961-1990 annual average (14°C/57.2°F), according to the records maintained by Members of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
The temperature in a large part of Europe have been record high during the meteorological autumn of 2006 (September, October and November).
The area of the Antarctic ozone hole are this year larger than ever measered. This can be concluded from the ozone measurements with the satellite instruments GOME, SCIAMACHY and OMI.
Van 12-16 September wordt in de Jaarbeurs in Utrecht de 7de Europese conferentie voor toepassingen in de meteorologie (ECAM) gehouden.
