Daily mean wind speed in De Bilt from 1940 - 2003

The images below show the history of the windspeed in De Bilt that each run 1 - 31 simulated for 1940-2003. With the windspeed in De Bilt we mean the windspeed in a gridpoint of the model lying closest to De Bilt. During the actual simulations the images showed the situation of each run at at most 1 hour ago !
If you click on the image belonging to a particular run the image becomes larger.
The red line denotes the speed of the daily mean wind of the year 2003 in the integration.
The black line denotes the average daily mean windspeed of the years 1940 until 2003.
The blue area shows the range of all windspeeds that have occurred between 1940 and 2003.
As a reference, the first graph shows the observed windspeed between 1940 - 2003 based on geo wind calculations using dialy mean surface pressure data of three Dutch stations (source Jules Beersma and Geert Jan van Oldenborgh). Note that model values are taken at 925 hPa, observations are taken at surface.
