• An international graduate school on 'Atmospheric Dynamics and Tracer Transport' (28 Sept. - 9 Oct. 1998) was organised within the framework of COACh, a cooperation between the Dutch Center for Climate Research and the Max-Planck-Institutes in Hamburg and Mainz.
  
• An IPCC workshop on rapid non-linear climate change was organised with the aim of assessing the present state of knowledge of potential rapid climate change due to antropogenic effects resulting from internal non-linearities in the climate system. The workshop was being held in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands (from 31 March- 2 April 1998).
• Workshop on Paleodata and Climate Models, held at KNMI 8-9 March, 1999.
  
• Workshop on Dynamical System Concepts in Climate Dynamics, held at KNMI, 17-21 April 2000.
• Mini-symposium NVBM Polaire gebieden en verleden klimaat, held at KNMI, 17 November 2000.
• A Workshop Reconstructing late Holocene Climate, was organised in cooperation with M. Mann, H. von Storch and H. Wanner in Charlotteville, USA, 17-19 April 2001.
• An ECBILT/CLIO Users Group Meeting has been held at KNMI, 8-9 July 2002.
