| Based on the results of OPERA 2, the issue of
selecting appropriate technology which will enable and facilitate
foreseen needs for the exchange of data and products must be carefully
analyzed. Once this has been achieved, competent tools must be
developed, made available, and supported for all OPERA members. In this project an in-depth analysis of
foreseen requirements on exchange format, data model, and software tools. The link with the operational
data hub should be considered carefully. |

| Maintenance of OPERA BUFR software. User support is
provided to the OPERA group and other users of the OPERA BUFR software,
including commercial radar software suppliers. |

| This activity includes defining new descriptors,
sequences, and tables for use with OPERA BUFR software, where relevant
and applicable, based on results achieved in WP 1.2 and 1.6. |

| Compositing software support (WP2.4) |

| Within the first OPERA Programme, compositing
software has been developed that is available to all OPERA members. It
is portable software that runs on all commonly available computer
platforms. For the continuation, this work package covers the support
of the software. Based on the demands of WP 2.1 and the pilot and the
operational data hub, an updated compositing software, based on the
present OPERA or some other compositing software, may be needed. The
development work is also covered by this WP. |
