The main goals of data infrastructure research and development are:

• Increase the ease of acces to meteorological and climatological data (including satellite data)
• Efficient use of the available resources (storage, networks, computing power).

This is done by joining and initiating national and international projects, finding the balance between new technologies and the practical use of it.
