DATA POLICY BBC2

We want to keep the database as open as possible and co-operate with other groups working on related subjects. All users of data should inform the owner of the data and the project co-ordinators about their research plans and use of the data.

Project co-ordinators are:

• Arnout Feijt (KNMI)
• Clemens Simmer (University of Bonn)
• Jean-Louis Brenguier (Meteo France).

In case a third party that did not participate in the campaign, wants to perform research that is already done by one of the participating groups, the project participant has preference over the third party and the project leaders will negotiate between the parties involved.

We consider it good courtesy to invite the people who made the measurements to be co-author of articles that make significant use of their data. All participants are asked not to pass on data from the database themselves to third parties, but forward request for use of the data to the project coordinators.

We will set-up a database on an ftp-server located at the KNMI, similar to the database of the previous BBC-campaign. Furthermore we will try to keep the same username and password for those who participate in both BBC-campaigns.
