This page gives access to meteo information prepared by KNMI for the SURINAM GABRIEL instrumented aircraft experiment. The measurement campaign took place beginning October 2005.

Forecasts

The plots are based on forecasts calculated with the ECMWF model.

Note: The forecast products are available up to yesterday+2 days for 18 UT (about 12 LT). There are forecasts for the flight day (based on 30-hour forecasts) and for flight day +1 dand +2 days (based on 54-hour and 72-hour forecasts). They are based on the 12 UT analysis for the day before the flight made by ECMWF. Instead of the 72-hour forecast it would have been better to use the 78-hour forecast but this is not available from ECMWF!
