The company was founded in 1978 as Radiometer Physics GmbH (RPG) and currently occupies about 20 employees. The company has build many microwave components, spectrometers and complete radiometers for the centimeter, millimetre and sub-millimetre range. All devices and systems are designed and manufactured to meet the customer’s needs. Receivers have been delivered to universities and research institutes world wide and have been installed in radio telescopes for ground observation, airplanes and balloons. These instruments range from 5 to 1500 GHz and cover different kinds of applications. In a number of projects, technology for future satellite was developed. Besides projects funded by ESA this includes contributions to ODIN and EOS. In the CLOUDS project - a cloud and Radiation monitoring satellite, co-sponsored by the EU, RPG is responsible for the sub-mm channels.
