More information can be found on the precipitation page. The data are stored in the ECMWF MARS archive (restricted to ECMWF members), or can be obtained from Franz Rubel. For MARS retrieval use the specifications given by this link. Global Precipitation 2000The data are produced by VUW, and described in Rubel et al (2004). The data can be obtained from Franz Rubel. European surface radiation Oct 1999 – Dec 2000The data are produced with the ELDORADO system (Meetschen et al, 2004). The data are stored in the ECMWF MARS archive (restricted to ECMWF members), or can be obtained from Bart van den Hurk. For MARS retrieval use the specifications given by this link. European Surface Heating Rate 2000 and 2003Surface heating rates are produced by Van den Hurk et al (2004), and are described on this page. Two time periods are processed: Oct 1999 – Dec 2000 and Apr – Sep 2003. The data will be stored in MARS, but can in the meantime be obtained from Han The.
