From the stations listed below the most extremes events during their measurement period are selected. Also an all station list is available.The hours listed are the top 20 of selected storm maxima. These storm maxima have been selected as follows: A moving 97 hours span has been constructed. If the middle hour (nr. 49) of each span equals the maximum wind speed of the whole span, this hour is selected as a storm maximum. With this method, only hours are selected with at least 48 hours between them. As a result, independence between the selected extremes is ensured (see also Smits, 2001c).
