Data products
OSI SAF QuikSCAT Wind Products
The QuikSCAT nominal mission ended on November 23, 2009 due to problems with the
SeaWinds instrument antenna spinning mechanism. QuikSCAT was launched in 1999 and was
already operating 7 years beyond its design life. The OSI SAF SeaWinds 100-km and 25-km
wind products are no longer available in near-real time.
Archived wind products from SeaWinds are available at KNMI on request.
Some wind data are also available online from the
(
EUMETSAT Data Centre).
OSI SAF SeaWinds products are available in the EUMETSAT archive for the period July to
November 2009.
