If corrupted observation ('binary' characters instead of readable call sign)
From a few ships we received the message that the observation was corrupted
Probably because en/decrypting of the VOS ID is not working as expected if there is no VOS ID inserted at all.
Unfortunately it is only on a few computers and we do not know the circumstances
Workaround:
- In TurboWin select Input -> Call sign / VOS ID
- On this input page: Insert password: ****** (see screen dump)
- Clear VOS ID and insert new VOS ID: same as call sign (see screen dump)
- Click OK
The obs must be OK now, but if the obs is still corrupted:
- Start TurboWin with the -3 option (means disable encrypting) (see screen dump)
- (If pop up: Confirm error message "Unable to open file VOSID.TXT")
- In TurboWin select Input -> Call sign / VOS ID
- (If pop up: Confirm error message "Unable to open file VOSID.TXT")
- On this input page: Insert password: ****** (see screen dump)
- Clear VOS ID and insert new VOS ID: same as call sign (see screen dump)
- Click OK
