Curriculum vitae Adri Buishand
Adri Buishand was born in 1949 in Hoorn (North Holland).
He graduated at the Agricultural University of Wageningen in 1974.
He received a Doctor's degree at the same University in 1977. His thesis was on stochastic modelling of daily rainfall sequences.
He is employed at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute since 1978. In 1982 he was the first recipient of the Dutch Hydrology prize.
He participated in the EU-funded projects POPSICLE and WRINCLE and is presently involved in the EU-funded project SWURVE.
He leads a project on stochastic multi-site simulation of daily precipitation and temperature for the rivers Rhine and Meuse basins. This project is done in co-operation with the governmental institute for Inland Water Management and Waste Water Treatment (RIZA).
