Infrasound Technology Workshop 2002

Introduction

The annual Infrasound Technology Workshop will be held in The Netherlands from 28 through 31 October 2002. The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) will host the workshop. The workshop is organized in cooperation with the Provisional Technical Secretariat of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).

Administrative information

The meeting will be held in the "Buys Ballotzaal" of KNMI. KNMI is located in De Bilt and can easily be reached by public transportation, see a description of how to reach KNMI.

The registration fee will be 250 euro and can be paid during the meeting or in advance. This includes the lunches, excursion, welcome drink and a group diner. A contribution of 100 euro is requested for partners not joining the meeting but the social program. Registration is done by filling out the registration form (pdf file or Word document).

Topics

The workshop should give an as broad as possible view of the study of infrasound. Abstracts are welcome from all disciplines concerned with infrasound.

The preliminary program based on the abstracts received.

Posters

Participants are encouraged to bring posters. Posters will be on display throughout the workshop. Although no special poster session is planned, posters can be viewed during breaks, lunch etc.

Proceedings

Speakers are kindly requested to provide their presentations in digital format for the proceedings. Digital presentations will be collected during the meeting or can be send in advance.

Hotel reservation

Reservations are made at the Park Plaza Utrecht located in Utrecht. The Park Plaza Hotel is ideally situated with respect to the train station, public transportation and the center of Utrecht. Touristic information

The city of Utrecht is in the center of The Netherlands. The capital Amsterdam and residential city of The Hague (Den Haag) can be reached by train. Major cities in The Netherlands have a fine selection of musea. Windmills are best looked at in Kinderdijk and people wearing wooden shoes can be found in the openluchtmuseum.
Autumn in the Netherlands can have beautiful weather although rain is more likely with temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius.
