By bus
The most convenient way to travel to KNMI is by bus (called
streekbus in Dutch).
There are four bus lines from the Central Station of Utrecht to KNMI, these are
number 50,52, 53 and 54
(click the number for schedules). A ticket can be bought in the bus, but buying a
"strippenkaart" in advance is cheaper. "Strippenkaarten" can be bought at the
bus station.
The bus ride will approximately take 15 minutes. You have to get out at the stop
called "Tunneltje De Bilt". The map below shows the stop and KNMI.
By bike
Travelling by bike is very common in The Netherlands. A bike can be rent at the
Central Station of Utrecht. The ride from the station to the KNMI takes 20 minutes
for an experienced biker.
By car
Travelling by car may take a long time in the morning because of traffic jams in and
around Utrecht, 30 minutes is the average travel time.
