Current Research Activities:
  • Quantifying the radiative interaction between clouds and absoring aerosols using space-based measurements. This project is supported by ESA within the Changing Earth Science Network Initiative, project Clarifi: CLouds and Aerosols Radiative Interaction and Forcing Investigation.
Previous Research Activities:
  • Inversion of optical data from the Raman lidar Caeli, based at CESAR, Cabauw, to retrieve vertical profiles of aerosols in The Netherlands (AeroPro);
  • Retrieval of aerosol information from space-based passive and active instruments;
  • Retrieval of the Absorbing Aerosol Index from SCIAMACHY;
  • Development of the BEAT Tutorial and accompanying software;
  • Development of the SCIAMACHY PMD Imager;
  • Development of a migration model for larval flatfish in Dutch waters;
