At KNMI, both the meteorological and oceanographical data from several Dutch lightships have been collected in the past. Most of the data initially was entered in logbooks and eventually became available in electronic form. The data have been used in several research projects which led to a number of publications.

This website will be used to publish all the available data and metadata from the Dutch lightships. Since, at least at the moment, no specific project has been assigned to arrange this, the growth of the site will not be as fast as most of us would like to see.
