Within the EU project REanalysis of the TROpospheric chemical composition over the past 40 years (RETRO) simulations have been performed with the tropospheric chemistry transport model TM4 driven by the 45-year meteorological reanalysis ERA-40 from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).
