MERCI
Measurement Error and
Correlation Impact
on the Atmospheric Dynamics Mission

The ESA Earth Explorer Atmospheric Dynamics Mission - Aeolus- aims at measuring atmospheric wind profiles to aid numerical weather prediction (NWP) and climate analyses. In the MERCI project potential wind errors and their temporal/spatial structure are analysed and their possible effect evaluated. In this light, the ADM-Aeolus mission specifications were reviewed.
