Current Projects
- The THOR project ('Thermohaline Overturning - at Risk?')
    THOR addresses the stability and variability of the thermohaline circulation. At KNMI, we use our in-house EC-Earth model to diagnose low frequency variability of the overturning circulation in the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, through initialization of the model with observations, we perform 10 year hind- and forecasts of the overturning strength and climate in the North-Atlantic region.
