About me

I am a specialist in air pollutant emissions. I develop advanced algorithms which combine satellite data with atmospheric models to calculate emissions from known and unknown sources. On the interpretation side, it involves data analysis and visualization of large data sets. I am also interested in the development and use of new low-budget sensor networks.

Projects

MarcoPolo: Improving the Chinese emission inventory with satellite data. GlobEmission: Emission estimates from satellite observations. Urban AirQ: an experimental air quality network in Amsterdam based on low-cost sensors. iSPEX: Measure aerosols with your smartphone. Snuffle.org: In search of a low-cost air quality sensor. AMFIC: Air quality monitoring and forecasting in China.
