This document gives an overview of the constraints, mission requirements and possible choices to be made on the settings for the vertical sampling of the ADM-Aeolus mission. The instrument has been designed to be adjustable, but in order not to waste valuable measurement time an overview of the possible settings, and their expected effect on the measurement quality is needed before launch.
