The NAVTEX forecast covers the Dutch continental shelf and is divided into 4 districts: Thames, Humber, German Bight and Dogger.The NAVTEX is issued twice a day at 02:00 and 14:00 LT and covers a period of 24 hours beginning at 03:00 and 15:00 UTC respectively.The forecast contains wind warnings in force (≥7 Bft) and a forecast of: general synopsis, wind direction and force, weather, visibility and significant wave height for the districts mentioned above.
The location and direction of the low and high pressure systems and their core pressure in hPa. Secondly the location and direction of the significant troughs and ridges.
Indicates the direction from which the wind is blowing. Is indicated in compass zones. The changing of the wind direction is mentioned in the forecast when the change in wind direction is expected to be more than 45 degrees.
The strength of the wind in Beaufort. This is the hourly average wind force. The increasing/decreasing of the wind force is mentioned in the forecast when the change in wind force is expected to be more than 1 Bft.
-If there are significant wind gusts the hourly averaged wind is raised by 1 Bft
-If there are significant wind gusts associated with showers, the term “squally showers” is used
Such as rain, drizzle, hail, snow, showers, thunder and lightning, freezing rain/drizzle and ice accretion.
The mean wave height of the highest third of the waves.
De NAVTEX verwachting wordt gegeven in de Engelse taal en bevat een verwachting voor het Nederlands Continentaal Plat en is verdeeld in 4 districten: Theems, Humber, Duitse Bocht en de Doggersbank. De NAVTEX wordt twee maal per dag uitgegeven om 02:00 en 14:00 LT en bestrijkt een periode van 24 uur vanaf 03:00 en 15:00 UTC respectievelijk.Het bericht bevat wind waarschuwingen (≥7 Bft) en een verwachting van: synoptische situatie, windrichting en windkracht, weer, zicht en significante golfhoogte voor de bovengenoemde districten.
De locatie en bewegingsrichting van de lage- en hogedrukgebieden en de daarbij behorende kerndruk in hPa. Daarnaast wordt ook de locatie en bewegingsrichting van de significante troggen en ruggen genoemd.
Geeft de windrichting aan waar de wind vandaan komt. Is aangegeven in kompasstreken. Een verandering in de windrichting wordt aangegeven als verwacht wordt dat de windrichting meer dan 45 graden verandert.
De windkracht wordt gemeld in Beaufort. Het gaat hier om de uurgemiddelde wind. Het toenemen/afnemen van de wind wordt gemeld in de verwachting als verwacht wordt dat de windverandering meer dan 1 Bft is.
-Als er significante windstoten verwacht worden, wordt de uur gemiddelde wind met 1 Bft verhoogd
-Als er significante windstoten bij buien verwacht worden, wordt de term “windstoten bij buien” gebruikt
Zoals regen, motregen, hagel, sneeuw, onweer, onderkoelde (mot)regen en ijsaanzetting.
De gemiddelde golfhoogte van de hoogste 1/3 van de golven.
